ASTM A403 WP347 and WP347H pipe fittings are austenitic stainless steel butt weld fittings manufactured for use in high temperature and corrosion-resistant piping systems. These fittings are produced according to ASME B16.9 dimensional standards and are commonly used in industries such as petrochemical processing, power generation, refinery plants and high temperature pressure pipelines.
WP347 stainless steel fittings are stabilized with niobium (columbium), which improves resistance to intergranular corrosion and provides better performance at elevated temperatures. The high carbon modification WP347H is designed to provide improved creep strength and long-term stability in high temperature service.

SS347 is a balanced, austenitic, chromium steel containing columbium which takes into consideration the end of carbide precipitation, and thus intergranular corrosion.

Corrosion Resistance
SS 347 stainless steel plate displays good general corrosion resistance that is similar to 304. It was produced for use in the chromium carbide precipitation scope by 800 – 1500°F (427 – 816°C) where unbalanced alloys such as SS304 are subject to intergranular attack. In this temperature scope, the overall corrosion resistance of Alloy 347 stainless steel plate is better than SS 321 stainless steel plate. SS347 additionally performs somewhat superior to SS321 in strongly oxidizing situations up to 1500°F (816°C). The alloy can be utilized as a part of nitric solutions; most diluted organic acids at moderate temperatures and in pure phosphoric acid at lower temperatures and up to 10% diluted solutions at high temperatures. SS347 stainless steel plate resists polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking in hydrocarbon service. It can also be used in chloride or fluoride free caustic solutions at moderate temperatures. SS347 stainless steel plate doesn’t perform well in chloride solutions, even in small concentrations, or in sulfuric acid.
