Monel 400 Ring Joint Gasket | API 6A N04400 Oval Ring Joint Gasket Manufacturer
We are a professional manufacturer of Monel 400 Ring Joint Gaskets, API 6A N04400 Oval Ring Joint Gaskets, designed for high-pressure, high-temperature, and highly corrosive applications. Our Ring Joint Gaskets are machined from solid metal to meet the stringent requirements of API 6A and ASME B16.20 standards, providing exceptional sealing for demanding industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation.
These gaskets are designed to withstand exceptionally high assembly loads, ensuring tight seals for optimal performance under extreme conditions. Our Monel 400 RTJ gaskets are a perfect solution for ensuring leak-proof connections in systems subject to high pressures.
Ring joint gaskets are metallic sealing ring suitable for high pressure and high temperature applications. They are manufactured in two kinds of cross section: octagonal and oval accordance.
Ring joint gasket are used in connection with RTJ flange, generates a strong seal between two mating flanges. When the flanges are fixed by bolts, ring joint gasket is squeezed into the groove of the flange, forming a tight seal between the mating flanges. In order to avoid destruction of the flanges, the material of the ring joint gaskets must be softer than the material of the flanges.
Standards Types of Ring Joint Gaskets
We offer a variety of Ring Joint Gaskets to suit different flange configurations, pressures, and temperatures.
| Type | Description | Pressure Rating | Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Style R | Includes R Octagonal and R Oval Gaskets | Up to 5,000 PSI | General industrial, oil & gas, refineries |
| Style RX | Improved octagonal gaskets with tight sealing contact | Up to 5,000 PSI | High-pressure applications |
| Style BX | Pressure-energized octagonal gaskets for up to 20,000 PSI | Up to 20,000 PSI | High-pressure subsea applications |
| Style SRX / SBX | Adaptation of RX and BX for subsea equipment | Suitable for underwater conditions |
Ring Joint Gaskets are manufactured according to any standard and non-standard sizes, including the standards of API 6A, API 17D, ASME B16.20, DIN 2693-67, JPI-7S-23-72 and other standards to suit ASME B16.5, ASME B16.47 Series A & Series B, API 6A Type 6B and 6BX flanges.
The sealing surfaces on the ring joint grooves must be smoothly finished to 63 Microinches and be free of objectionable ridges, tool or chatter marks.
The following Ring Type Joint styles are available:
Ring joint gasketsTolerances (Inches)
1.”A” Width of ring: +/-0.008
2.”B” “H” Height of ring: +/-0.020
3.”P” Average pitch diameter of ring: +/-0.007

Material Selection for High Performance
Monel 400 (N04400) is widely used for its exceptional corrosion resistance, especially in seawater, acidic environments, and high temperatures. The material properties ensure a long service life and high performance, even under the harshest conditions.
| Material | Brinell Hardness | Temperature Range | Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monel 400 (N04400) | 200 – 250 | -60°C to +400°C | Marine, chemical processing, corrosion-resistant systems |
| Stainless Steel 316L | 160 | -196°C to +800°C | General industrial, chemical |
| Inconel 625 | – | Up to 1000°C | Aerospace, chemical processing |
| Hastelloy C-276 | – | Up to 1000°C | Chemical reactors, heat exchangers |
How Ring Joint Gaskets Work
Ring Joint Gaskets are metallic sealing rings that fit into the grooves of RTJ flanges, providing a strong seal between mating flanges. When bolts tighten the flanges, the gasket is squeezed into the groove, forming a tight, pressure-tight seal. These gaskets are designed to withstand high seating stresses and high assembly loads, ensuring leak-free performance.
Types of Ring Joint Gasket Cross-Sections:
-
Octagonal Section: Provides higher sealing efficiency and is used in Style R and Style RX gaskets.
-
Oval Section: Primarily used in Style R Oval Ring Gaskets, with slightly lower sealing efficiency than octagonal designs.
