ASTM A193 B6 is a high-temperature ferritic stainless steel (UNS 41000, 410 stainless steel) bolting specification for extreme applications in heavy industry. ASTM A194 Grade 6 nuts (UNS 41000, 410 stainless steel) are the corresponding nut. Grade B6 studs and Grade B6 heavy hex bolts are 12-13 % chromium.
ASTM A193 Grade B6 is a standard material specification for chromium-ferritic stainless steel fasteners, for use in high tensile, high temperature and special purpose applications such as pressure piping & pressure vessels bolting. Grade B6 is a heat-treated 12% chromium-ferritic magnetic 410 stainless steel with minimum tensile strength requirement of 110 ksi and yield 85 ksi. ASTM A193 specification covers requirements for chemical composition, mechanical properties, hardness, heat-treatment and recommended nuts-washers for Grade B6 Fasteners.
