DIN 2527 PN10 / PN16 Blind Flanges | DIN Standard Blind Pipe Flange

What Is DIN 2527 Blind Flange?

A DIN 2527 Blind Flange is a solid steel flange used to seal the end of pipelines, valves, or pressure vessels. Unlike other flange types, blind flanges have no center bore, allowing them to completely block the flow of fluids or gases in a piping system.

DIN blind flanges are manufactured according to DIN 2527 or EN 1092-1 standards and are commonly used in water treatment plants, chemical processing systems, power plants, and industrial pipelines where pipeline isolation and reliable sealing are required.

Because blind flanges are bolted connections, they can be easily removed for maintenance, inspection, or pipeline modifications.

DIN 2527 PN10 and PN16 Blind Flange Standards

DIN 2527 is a German standard that specifies blind flanges used in piping systems. These flanges are designed to work with pipelines following DIN or EN flange dimensions.

The most commonly used pressure ratings include:

  • DIN 2527 PN10 Blind Flange – Nominal pressure 10 bar

  • DIN 2527 PN16 Blind Flange – Nominal pressure 16 bar

DIN blind flanges are also comparable to EN 1092-1 Type 05 blind flanges, making them compatible with many European piping systems.
