ASTM A420 WPL6 elbows are low-temperature carbon steel (LTCS) butt weld fittings specifically designed for low-temperature and sub-zero service. Manufactured in accordance with ASTM A420 material specification and ASME B16.9 dimensional standard, WPL6 90 degree elbows offer excellent impact toughness, ductility, and reliability at temperatures as low as –46°C (–50°F).
Available in both long radius (LR) and short radius (SR) designs, ASTM A420 WPL6 elbows are widely used in LNG plants, offshore platforms, gas processing facilities, and low-temperature pressure piping systems.
What Is ASTM A420 WPL6?
ASTM A420 covers wrought carbon steel and alloy steel pipe fittings intended for low-temperature service.
Grade WPL6 is the most commonly specified LTCS grade, equivalent to ASTM A333 Gr.6 pipe, offering reliable toughness at sub-zero temperatures.
