5083 H116 Aluminum Plate,AlMg4.5Mn Aluminium Plate,BV,ABS,DNV class approved plate for Shipbuilding
5083 Marine Grade Aluminum. 5083 Plate,The commonly used temper of 5083 aluminum sheet is H116/ H321/ H112, with a thickness of 3-200mm and a width of 1500-2600mm. It is widely used for ship engine bases, ship decks, ship sides, bottom outer plates, etc., covering the hulls of yachts and cruise ships, etc
Aluminum Temper H116
Applies to products manufactured from alloys in the 5xxx series, for which the magnesium content is 3% nominal or more. Products are normally strain hardened at the last operation to specified stable tensile property limits and meet specified levels of corrosion-resistance in accelerated type corrosion tests. They are suitable for continuous service at temperatures no greater than 150°F (66°C). Corrosion tests include inter-granular and exfoliation.
5083 Aluminum plate has good corrosion resistance, the corrosion rate in seawater is very slow, the uniform corrosion rate is generally 0.025-0.05mm/ years, can resist the corrosion of seawater and marine atmosphere on the ship, reduce oil and maintenance cost, long service life.
5083 marine Aluminum Alloy plate with high strength and low fracture toughness, it is suitable for hull structure material, low fracture toughness of ideal structural material, has an important significance for ship safety.
Aluminium 5083 is known for exceptional performance in extreme environments. 5083 is highly resistant to attack by both seawater and industrial chemical environments.
Alloy 5083 also retains exceptional strength after welding. It has the highest strength of the non-heat treatable alloys but is not recommended for use in temperatures in excess of 65°C.
Alloy 5083-O which is the most widely used aluminum alloy for cryogenic applications, exhibits the following cooled from room temperature to the boiling point of nitrogen (-195oC):
Alloy 5083 corresponds to the following standard designations and specifications but may not be a direct equivalent: :

5083-H116 Aluminum Plate
5083 H116 is the aluminum alloy 5083 in the H116 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is treated in whatever manner is required to develop a particular degree of intergranular and exfoliation corrosion.
The graph bars on the material properties cards below compare 5083-H116 aluminum to: 5000-series alloys (top), all aluminum alloys (middle), and the entire database (bottom). A full bar means this is the highest value in the relevant set. A half-full bar means it’s 50% of the highest, and so on.
