SOUR SERVICE:
Refers to service conditions containing hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) — typically found in oil & gas production environments. “Sour” means the presence of H₂S, which can cause sulfide stress cracking (SSC), hydrogen embrittlement, and corrosion.
