1. What ASTM A182 304H Is
ASTM A182 is the standard specification for forged or rolled alloy and stainless steel pipe flanges, fittings, valves, and parts for high-temperature service.
Grade 304H is a high-carbon version of 304 stainless steel, with:

2. Why “H” — The Purpose of High Carbon
The “H” in 304H stands for “High Carbon”, and that extra carbon improves:

In other words, 304H performs better in high-temperature service (typically above 500°C / 932°F).
