ASTM A210 / ASME SA210 Grade A1 seamless tubes are carbon steel boiler and heat-exchanger tubes designed for low- and medium-temperature pressure service. Manufactured to ASTM A210 and adopted by ASME as SA210, Grade A1 tubes provide good mechanical strength, uniform wall thickness, and excellent heat transfer performance, making them widely used in boilers, superheaters, economizers, and heat exchangers.

Grade A1 is one of the most commonly specified carbon steel boiler tube grades for power generation and industrial thermal systems.


What Is ASTM A210?

ASTM A210 is the standard specification for seamless medium-carbon steel boiler and superheater tubes.
It covers two grades:

  • Grade A1 – standard boiler tube grade

  • Grade C – higher carbon and higher strength

ASTM A210 is adopted by ASME as SA210 for pressure equipment under the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC).

SA210 Grade A1 is a medium-carbon steel designed for reliable service in boiler and heat-transfer applications.

Heat Treatment
