Hastelloy X, also know as Alloy X®,N06002, in a variety of specifications including AMS 5754 and AMS 5536. Hastelloy X is a nickel-based superalloy ideal for gas turbine engine, aircraft, industrial furnace, and chemical processing applications. Gas turbine engines use Hastelloy X flame holders, spray bars, transition ducts, combustor cans and other combustion-related parts. Alloy X also performs well in aircraft parts, including jet engine tailpipes, afterburner components, and cabin heaters.
Hastelloy X is known for its excellent high temperature strength withstanding up to 2200°F. The alloy can also be easily fabricated with forming and welding characteristics by both manual and automatic methods. Additionally, Hastelloy X is corrosion resistant, heat resistant and oxidation resistant, being able to withstand reducing or neutral atmospheres and oxidation.
Alloy X offers exceptional performance in furnace rolls or other industrial furnace applications because of the alloy’s strong resistance to oxidizing, reducing and neutral atmospheres. In addition, Hastelloy X is widely used for a variety of chemical processing parts, including retorts, pyrolysis tubing, and muffles due to its exceptional resistance to stress-corrosion cracking.

Abstract
This specification covers alloys UNS N06002, UNS N06230, UNS N12160, and UNS R30556 in the form of rolled plate, sheet, and strip for heat-resisting and general corrosive service. The material shall conform to the required chemical composition for nickel, iron, chromium, cobalt, molybdenum, tungsten, carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, columbium, tantalum, aluminum, zirconium, lanthanum, nitrogen, boron, and titanium. The alloy shall conform to specific mechanical requirements such as tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation. Annealed alloys UNS N06002, UNS N06230, and UNS R30556 sheet and strip shall conform to the grain size requirements
