DIN Flanges: Joint Faces, Surface Finish & Bevel Ends
1. Basic joint face types of DIN standard flanges according to
DIN 2526
1) DIN flanges with flat face(FF):
Form A: without requirement of surface finish.
Form B: with Rz = 160
2) DIN flanges with raised face(RF):
Form C: Rz = 160
Form D: Rz = 40
Form E: Rz = 16
3) Form F: tongue according to DIN 2512
4) Form N: groove according to DIN 2512
5) Form V: male according to DIN 2514
6) Form R: female according to DIN 2514
7) Form V 13: male according to DIN 2513
8) Form R 11: female according to DIN 2513
9) Form M: groove for joint according to DIN 2695
10) Form L: groove for joint according to DIN 2696
11) Form V 17: Female according to DIN 2517
12) Form R 17: female according to DIN 2517
2. Surface finish of DIN series flanges
The surface finish of DIN flanges should conform to DIN 2519 which also regulated the dimensional tolerance of DIN flanges. The surface finish conditions refer to several places of the flange: outside edge, center hole, joint face surface, bolt holes and nut support surface.
3. Welding ends for DIN weld neck flanges
The welding ends of DIN weld neck flanges should be furnished in accordance with DIN 2559. Usually, when the mating pipe wall thickness is less or equal to 16 mm, form 22(shape 22) according to DIN 2559 should be applied. If wall thickness of mating pipe is larger than 16 mm, form 3(shape 3) will be applied.
