corrosion-resistant solution for plate stiffening requirements.
Key advantages include an excellent strength to weight ratio
delivering buckling resistance at a lower weight than with
flat bars or angles.
Bulb Flats are used in ship and bridge building to reinforce steel plate. They feature a unique shape – flat, with a short, tapered flange on one side – which provides for easier cleaning, and there are no hidden recesses which you might encounter when reinforcing plate with Tees or angles.
We supply bulb flats in a wide range of steel types and grades. We also offer a choice of finishing services to meet our customers’ needs. These include:
- Shotblasting and priming – using a range of industry standard pre-fabrication primers to provide improved fabrication performance and protection
