Fluorocarbon Coating (also refer to PTFE, Xylan, Teflon )
Fluorocarbon Coating is an organic coating consisting of solid lubricant dispersed in an organic binder and dissolved in a specially formulated mixture of solvents. It is also corrosion-resistant due to the use of a thermally cured thermosetting synthetic binding material. When applied to the substrates it resists galling, seizure and fretting and offers corrosion resistance.

PTFE coated studs have been used for many years within the bolting industry, especially in any application that requires corrosion resistance or in offshore applications (salt spray is hard on Grade B7 material). PTFE is also useful if you’ve had “galling” and need a lower breakout torque for safe removal.

1,Remove oil according to SSPC-SP1 requirement

2,then sand blasting with aluminaaccording to SSPC-5.

3,Normally we apply the zinc plating before Fluorocarbon coating,

We also can apply zinc nickel plating as base coat and PTFE based as top coat for a better anti-corrosion performance
