The sulfur content in steel, intended for the manufacture of pipes to be welded that is specified in the order, shall not exceed 0.020%.
Pipes are produced heat-treated or without heat treatment in accordance with the order.

08KH18N10T is made according to the following GOST: 5632−72; 18 907−73, 4405−75, 5582−75, 5949−75; 25 054−81; 9940−81.This steel is a chromium-Nickel austenitic alloy. Is smelted in electric-arc furnaces. Has high resistance to intergranular corrosion in industrial environments, in comparison with the alloys and the 12KH18N10T 12X18H12T. It is used in the manufacture of welded structures operating in highly-corrosive environments at t° from -196 to +600°C without pressure limitation.

Corrosion resistance

According to GOST 5582−72, 7350−77 and 4986−79 such steel when tested by the methods AM and AMU GOST 6032−89 resists intergranular corrosion in the test solutions during exposure, respectively, 8 and 24 hours. These tests are conducted after annealing (1 hour) at t° 650 °C.

Steel 08KH18N10T on the technological parameters of a similar brand 12X18H9T (10T). From them it has a better resistance weld to intergranular corrosion and knife in the chemical industry.
