What is JIS B2311

JIS B2311 is a Japanese Industrial Standard covering steel butt-welding pipe fittings for ordinary use.

It is commonly used with:

  • JIS G3452 – Carbon steel pipes
  • JIS G3457 – Arc welded carbon steel pipes

JIS B2311  is a Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) specification,JIS B231  covers steel butt-welding pipe fittings for ordinary use.

SGP: SGP stands for “Standard for General Piping.” It is a classification within the JIS standards system that pertains to general-purpose steel pipes used in ordinary piping applications.

Materials : The fittings to this standard are made from materials in accordance with JIS G3452.

Pressure Ratings : The fittings are free from leakage at hydrostatic pressure up to a maximum of 2.5 MPa.

Welding End Preparations : Bevel dimensions and tolerances conform to those shown in the diagram. Fittings with a basic thickness below 4 mm have plain unbeveled ends.

Suitable for low to medium pressure applications.

What is SGP
