Self Adhesive Insulation pin is an insulation hanger with a self-stick base. When you use it,please Just peel the release paper from the hanger base and firmly press the base to the clean duct-free surface. Impale the insulation over the hanger nail and slip on the locking washer. Self-stick hangers adhere to clean metal surfaces and withstand high temperatures. When using an adhesive fastener, the fastener is bonded to the duct-work with an appropriate adhesive and allowed to set up. After sufficient drying time the liner is impaled on the pin and a washer added to retain the liner.

The self-adhesive base is usually used in situations where the pins are attaching to metal, for example a smooth metal wall. If the pins are being attached to other surfaces such as plasterboard, brick or stone then a perforated base is usually used.

We supply both self-adhesive and perforated base hangers in stainless steel 304 and 316 grade. Lengths start at 19 mm and go up to 410 mm.

The insulation pin has a 25mm x 25mm perforated base comes in 38mm and 65mm lengths.

Self-locking washer is placed at the end of the nail to insure that the batt or board stays in place.

When using adhesive to secure the anchors, the adhesive should be maintained at room temperature. The spindle pin installation should be completed and the glue should be given about 24 hours before the batts or boards are impaled.

Application of insulation stick pins

The user is responsible for determining the suitability of the application. 

  • Hangers must be applied to a clean, dry, non-porous surface that is free of all oil, films, dust, rust, etc.
  • Self-adhering hangers are not recommended for concrete or painted surfaces.
  • It is important  that they not be used where operating temperatures can exceed 150° F at the point of adhesion.
  • Hangers should not be used on ceilings or roofs of metal buildings or any surface the reverse side of which may be exposed to
  • heat concentration from sunlight, etc.
