The requirements
Tubes shall be manufactured as to length:
- of off-gauge length – in the range of 4-12,5 m;
- of off-gauge length – within off-gauge;
- multiple of measured length – within measured length with 5 mm allowance for every cut;
- approximate length – within the ungraded length.
Upon agreement with the customer, it is allowed to manufacture pipes of shorter than the unmeasured length. If the wall thickness is greater than 16 mm, the length of cut-to-length pipe shall be as agreed between the manufacturer and the customer. Tubes of approximate length shall be manufactured at the customer’s request.
The deviation limits for measured length and multiple of measured lengths are as follows: +10 mm – for lengths up to 6 m; +15 mm – for lengths over 6 m or with outside diameter greater than 152 mm; ±500 mm – for approximate length.
