ASTM A790 UNS S32750 Super Duplex Stainless Steel seamless Pipe and Tube

We are a professional manufacturer and exporter of ASTM A790 UNS S32750 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe

ASTM A790 UNS S32750 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe and Tube are engineered for highly corrosive, high-pressure, and demanding industrial environments. We are a professional manufacturer and exporter of seamless and welded Super Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) pipes, delivering reliable solutions for offshore, marine, petrochemical, and chemical processing applications.

UNS S32750, also known as SAF 2507 or F53, is a super duplex stainless steel containing approximately 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 4% molybdenum, and nitrogen. Its balanced duplex microstructure (austenite + ferrite) combines high mechanical strength with exceptional corrosion resistance.

Key Features of UNS S32750 Super Duplex Pipe

    • High tensile and yield strength

    • Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion

    • Outstanding resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC)

    • Superior performance in seawater and offshore environments

    • High thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion

    ASTM A790 / ASME SA790 Specification

ASTM A790 / ASME SA790 covers seamless and straight-seam welded ferritic/austenitic stainless steel pipes for general corrosive service, with particular emphasis on resistance to stress corrosion cracking.

    The specification includes:

    • Seamless super duplex stainless steel pipe

    • Welded pipe (no filler metal for straight seam welding unless specified)

    • Requirements for chemical composition

    • Mechanical testing procedures

    • Non-destructive examination

All products comply with ASTM A790 and ASME SA999 requirements.

Chemical Composition of UNS S32750 (SAF 2507)

    Element Composition (%)
    Carbon (C) ≤ 0.03
    Chromium (Cr) 24.0 – 26.0
    Nickel (Ni) 6.0 – 8.0
    Molybdenum (Mo) 3.0 – 5.0
    Nitrogen (N) 0.24 – 0.32
    Manganese (Mn) ≤ 1.2
    Silicon (Si) ≤ 0.8

The elevated chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content result in a PREN value above 40, providing superior resistance to localized corrosion.

    Mechanical Properties

    Property Minimum Value
    Tensile Strength ≥ 800 MPa
    Yield Strength ≥ 550 MPa
    Elongation ≥ 15%
    Hardness ≤ 310 HB

UNS S32750 offers nearly twice the yield strength of conventional 300-series stainless steels, allowing for lighter designs without sacrificing performance.

ASTM A790 UNS S32750 Seamless Pipe

      • ASTM A790

      • ASME SA790

      • EN 10216-5

      • DIN 17458

      • GOST 9940-81

      • GOST 9941-81

      Equivalent Grades:

      • X2CrNiMoN25-7-4

      • 1.4410

      • SAF 2507

      • F53

      Applications

Super Duplex UNS S32750 pipes are widely used in:

      • Offshore oil & gas platforms

      • Subsea systems

      • Seawater desalination plants

      • Chemical and petrochemical processing

      • Heat exchangers

      • Pressure vessels

Its excellent resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking makes it ideal for high-salinity and marine environments.

      Temperature Limitation

UNS S32750 is generally recommended for service temperatures below 600°F (315°C). Prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures may reduce toughness and corrosion resistance.

      Testing & Inspection

All ASTM A790 UNS S32750 pipes undergo comprehensive quality control procedures:

      • Hydrostatic testing

      • Eddy current testing

      • Ultrasonic testing

      • PMI (Positive Material Identification)

      • Intergranular corrosion test (IGC)

      • Mechanical and impact testing

      • Dimensional and visual inspection

Third-party inspection (SGS, BV, TUV) is available upon request.

      ASTM A790 UNS S32750 vs UNS S32205

Both grades are duplex stainless steels but serve different performance requirements.

      UNS S32750 (Super Duplex 2507)

      • Higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen

      • PREN > 40

      • Superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance

      • Preferred for offshore and subsea applications

      UNS S32205 (Duplex 2205)

      • Balanced strength and corrosion resistance

      • More economical

      • Suitable for general industrial and chemical service

For aggressive chloride environments and critical offshore applications, UNS S32750 is the preferred solution.
