ASTM A554 TP 316 316L Stainless Steel Square Tubes

316L Stainless Steel Square tube

316L Square Tube is a metal that has been formed into a square tube

316L Stainless Steel Square tube is typically used for structural purposes such as bridges, box girders, cranes, roof trusses, trailers, towers, tow bars, columns, agriculture equipment, bridges or mine props.

Austenitic stainless steel 316/316L. Compared to the 304/304L grade, the addition of molybdenum improves the material’s resistance to corrosion in environments with high concentrations of chlorides. The reduced percentage of carbon (316L/1.4404) relative to the base grade 1.4401 (316) means that this grade is less susceptible to intergranular corrosion after welding. This grade of material offers good formability, polishes well, has good resistance to corrosion and good toughness properties. Its machinability is mediocre to poor. The 316L grade is used in the food industry and the dairy industry, but also in maritime environments, swimming pools and architecture.
