Stainless steel AISI 253MA (1.4835, X9CrNiSiNCe21-11-2) is a heat-resistant austenitic chromium-nickel steel that is essentially the same as material 1.4828 / AISI 309. However, it differs from this in that it has a higher nitrogen content and the addition of rare earths (cerium) as an alloying constituent. Stainless steel AISI 253MA has a good scaling resistance of up to approx. 1100 °C in dry air.
