Backing ring is used to fit PE100 Stub Flanges, These backing rings are available in Table D, Table E, AS4087 and ANSI flange patterns, in both Heavily Galvanised and SS316 material. Custom made backing rings can also be supplied to suit any flange pattern.

AS4087 Backing Ring Flange
AS4087 is the latest standard for BS table D to H, the same drilling is used but the new PN pressure rating system has been adopted. As the new pressure ratings are slightly higher the flange thicknesses have slightly increased. Also the raised face dimensions (although rarely specified, flat face is mostly used) are slightly larger. Table C, J to R, no longer exist, PN16 is the same drilling as Table D, PN21 is the same as Table E, PN35 is the same as Table H.
This AS 4087 flange Standard specifies requirements for circular flanges manufactured from copper alloy, grey cast iron, ductile cast iron, or steel. The external shapes of flanges may alternatively be any other shape. It covers nominal sizes with pressure ratings for PN 14, PN 16, PN 21 and PN 35 at operating temperatures not exceeding 80°C. The Standard also specifies requirements for jointing materials. Flanges are suitable for use on pipes, pipe fittings, valves and other appurtenances that are primarily intended for the conveyance or storage of water or wastewater. NOTE: For applications outside the limits specified in this Standard the appropriate flange details may be determined from AS 2129 series, Flanges for pipes, valves and fittings, and AS/NZS 4331 series, Metallic flanges.
